What is GCOS?

GCOS manages Affymetrix
GeneChip array data.

It automates
the control of GeneChip Fluidics Stations and Scanners.

Provides workflow
tracking of experiment, image, analysis data.

GCOS has just started
to support the GeneChip DNA Analysis Software (GDAS) for resequencing
and genotyping data analysis and report generation.

How do I get help/training
for GCOS?
How big are the data
files?
Typically, all files(EXP,DAT,CEL,CHP)
together are approximately 200MB for each sample with the new high
resolution on the GeneChip Scanner 3000.
Is GCOS the same as MAS while working
with sample data?
Yes, except that it has a database,
networked client-server environment.
Can I use MAS data in GCOS?
Yes, you will have to import them using
the Batch Importer utility
Can GCOS generate data to use with MAS?
Yes, you will have to export files
from GCOS.
What are CAB files in GCOS?
CAB files are compressed
files containing DAT, CHP and CEL files of a database/project/sample/experiment.
