AGTC Software Subscription Service
The AGTC offers access to a number of software packages on a subscription basis. This subscription service will begin on September 1st, 2004 and will cost $200 per year. Please review the software packages listed below. If you have questions or would like to recommend other software packages to be included, do not hesitate to contact Daniel Liu at 313-577-2465.

AGTC Software Subscription FAQ

Gene Spring
The GeneSpring microarray analysis software comes from Silicon Genetics and is being widely used here at Wayne State and across the Michigan Life Sciences Corridor.

GeneSpring is available from computers maintained at the AGTC. To learn more about GeneSpring, visit: http://sigenetics.com

Celera
The Celera Discovery System (CDS) is an easy to use desktop resource. This unified platform provides comprehensive, regularly-updated mouse and human genome data from proprietary and public sources-integrated, aggregated, validated, curated and classified along with analysis tools and super-computing power. Access is web-based and controlled with a floating license.

GCOS / Affy MicroArray Suite
The software automatically acquires and processes hybridization data. Analysis algorithms allow review, comparing, graphing, filtering, and reporting in different modes. This software is available on computers maintained at the AGTC and can be installed on-site.

Affy Data Mining Tool
Used to filter and sort data stored in an Affymetrix Analysis Data Model compatible database. This software is available on computers maintained at the AGTC.

R and BioConductor
Bioconductor is an open source and open development software project to provide tools for the analysis and comprehension of genomic data. Visit the BioConductor website to learn more. R and BioConductor are able on high performance linux cluster and can be used at the AGTC and off site.

MacVector
MacVector, the leading sequence analysis package for the Macintosh, provides sequence editing, PCR primer analysis, Internet database searches, protein analysis, and a wide variety of other functions. Visit Accelrys to learn more about MacVector. This software is available on a campus-wide floating license.

DS Gene
DS Gene is a versatile sequence analysis software program for the Windows platform. Visit Accelrys to learn more. DS Gene is avaialable on computers maintained at the AGTC.

ImaGene
ImaGene automates the time consuming process of measuring and visualizing gene expression data from high-density array images. Visit BioDiscovery to learn more about ImaGene. ImaGene is available on computers maintained at the AGTC.

Gene Pix Pro
GenePix is a leader in the acquisition and analysis of expression data from DNA microarrays, protein microarrays, tissue arrays and cell arrays. GenePix is available on computers maintained at the AGTC.

Genomatix
The Genomatix Bioinformatics tools can be used to solve various problems in the characterization of regulatory networks and target genes. Genomatix is available from a web-browser on a floating license.

Oligo
OLIGO performs a range of functions for researchers in PCR and related technologies; consensus, multiplex and degenerate primers, oligonucleotide database, secondary structure, LCR and more. You can learn more about Oligo here.
